Dogwood JRT Club Fall Newsletter Our 6th annual Endless Summer Bash I + II was held Labor Day weekend in Cartersville, GA, at the Bartow County Saddle Club. Considering the sweltering hot summer we have had in GA we caught a breath of cool air for both days! The mornings were cool and perfect for racing! Racing went well. Thanks to our judge Laura Cormier, and also to Curtis Reese, Len Coverdale, Lee Stubbs, Judy Tyno, Shawn Aniol and our great catchers. Club members all stepped up to help us out – way to go! Go to Ground/Super Earth judges David Day and Jan Bell did a great job. Thanks so much to you both, and the stewards who helped make things go smoothly. Conformation judges were Joe Smith and Terri Evans. Thank you both so much. Lots of lovely pups and adult terriers. Prizes were well done!! Thanks to Wanda Dyer, Jane Griffin, and Debbie Johnson for their hard work on getting the prizes all together. Our raffle was successful, and will benefit veterinary care for several different rescuers in our area. Thanks to Billie Roach for all the work she does for the raffle, both in procuring gifts and setting it up. This year was our first attempt at having dinner on site Sat evening. The company providing the catering had a bit of a problem getting the food to us - - like they were LATE! By an hour and 20 min. Those that arranged this were ‘fit to be tied!’ When the chow finally got there, it was good – thanks to everyone who pitched in and helped get it from the truck to the club house, get it up and then cleaned it up. Our trial was good for the club, profit allowed us to purchase a trailer to keep the club equipment stored. Our next event is our club AGM on Oct 23rd at the Bartow County Saddle Club. We will have the meeting, covered dish lunch, and racing, lure coursing and go to ground practice. Elections will also be held in conjunction with the meeting. Our club has had a good year. We thank all who have been so dedicated to the club, helping with set ups of play days, and the trial. Faith Letendre
