DJRTC Spring/Summer Newsletter 2011
We have had a busy spring! We have had 4 play days with good attendance, met new people, and new members have joined! We had a grooming seminar, and our usual go to ground, lure coursing and racing.
On June 18th we tried a new game! A mixture of lure coursing and racing, with a backstop and hurdle thrown in! Also, the dog returned himself to the start! No catch pen – this event is patent pending by Len C. Everyone seemed to like it! We also had a covered dish lunch with grilled burgers/hot dogs on the 18th, that was too good! Great food!
Looking forward! We have a dock diving/swim day scheduled July 23rd at the Atlanta Dogworks in Canton, Ga. Directions will be posted on the flyer and also on the website. Last years event was a great success, and just the thing for a hot afternoon in Ga.
August is no play day month. Too hot, and the club is busy getting ready for our Annual Endless Summer Bash, Sept 3 + 4, at Bartow County Saddle Club. We expect competitors from several states for conformation, racing, go to ground, Super Earth, Top Dog/lure coursing, Barn Hunt and Brush Hunt. We have non sanctioned events designed for colored terriers, other terrier types, etc. The flyer for entries will be available on line at the JRTCA website or on our website.
If, as a club member or interested Jack lover, you can spare some time on September 2,3 or 4th we have various areas where you could help us at our trial. It takes a whole club to do this trial, not just the BOD or officers! Contact any of the BOD listed on the Dogwood web site with questions.
